Compare Sony XBR9 vs XBR8 vs XBR10 vs XBR7:

The 2009 Sony KDLXBR9 series is the follow up to 2008’s KDLXBR7 series, and although it would seem to make more sense that it would be the follow-up to the Bravia KDLXBR8 series also released last year, note that the XBR8 uses LED LCD technology where the models in question do not, and as such we end up with this really confused heirachy between the XBR 7,8, 9 and now the recently Bravia KDLXBR10 series :P (The sony kdl52xbr10 and kdl46xbr10 will use LED technology and thus I will further confuse when I say that the XBR10 series is the direct 2009 upgrade to the XBR8 series of last year. The Bravia XBR-9 lineup consists of several models (The 52 inch Bravia KDL-52XBR9 / 46 inch Bravia KDL-46XBR9 / 40 inch Bravia KDL-40XBR9 / and 32 inch Bravia KDL-32XBR9 LCD televisions) and when you compare these units there are no significant differences between them except for size, denoted by the numbers in the middle, measured diagonally.
