Summary: I had lost face with the world of HDTVs, decided on this for Gaming (PS3 & Xbox 360)

Pros:46 inches huge, crisp clear images, great bargain compared to the W,Z and XBR series I believe, still great at 60Hz for games

Cons: Besides the reasons you purposely choose this television, lower refresh at increased savings, none visible yet.

Review of Sony Bravia KDL46V4100 by Sean Schell:

My girlfriend had bought an HDTV before me, and was asking me at what resolution my tv was, I was utterly speechless and knew that I had to catch up to date on HDTVs and buy myself one especially since I so often play games online with my brothers and friends and they told me I really need to get a high def screen for max wow factor on the newest games. After learning the lingo when it comes to HDTVs, I compared several LCD HDTVs, and finally chose the Sony Bravia KDL-46V4100 for a few reasons. The Sony KDL46V4100 46 inch LCD offers full 1080p resolution (the highest possible to this day), multiple HDMI ports, so you can hook up your best goodies whether it be Xbox 360s or Playstation 3, awesome contrast and clarity, and much more; while not adding in some unneeded things that makes the other bravias ahead of it much more expensive.

However specifications mean nothing so I went to a local Best Buy to see it in action, and it was astounding. The Black levels on Sony’s new V4100 is very good, Saw 3 looked like it was filmed outdoors in central park – very natural and realistic, there wasn’t much ghosting or blur like other non 120Hz lcds, and the brightness was consistent whether I sat in front of the tv, or all the way on the side which is a problem i noted on other HDTVs compared to the Bravia V4100 units. All in all, this was an excellent buy, and we have been enjoying it thoroughly and still shocked by the difference in quality when we look at new HD content/bluray/ps3 games.

Many experts and reviews of the Sony KDL46V4100 will tell you that if you are going for hardcore video game playing on the next gen consoles, to get a 1080p unit with high Hz refresh rate… While I do occasionally see what can be described as the action trying to catch up to itself in the form of lagged out pixels, its hardly and issue and the savings from dropping to the mid range V series, is enough to buy you a brand new console or 5 games… a small not too annoying weakness for a big chunk of cash… I’ll take it!

Overall Rating: 9.5 / 10
Picture Quality: 10 / 10
Audio Quality:: 8 / 10
Other Features: 10 / 10
Price / Value: 9 / 10

Buy Again or choose another: If i had more money might go for Z series as this is already great… but very satisfied with the V4100 counterpart, especially for the cheaper price bargain over the others.
