I’m a sony/panasonic user for past 30 years as a young kid. I planned to buy a 40 ” for living room and was researching TVs since sep 2007. Some friends pushed me towards trying samsung or sharp. Sharp i get good discount. I’m a risk averse person, so tested and personally viewed every damn brand thouroughly in 40/42 “.
Read some hear-say none sense on different sites like sony bravia’s annoying fan sounds.
Ran samsung and Bravia parallel for couple of days.Believe me “I’m a very busy person and I don’t give a fig about samsung’s 5 million or 25000 contrast ratio.” U run them side by side and compare the difference. Sony is the Best of the Best. The whole household voted Sony. For cheaper options, sharps are also good. Samsung is not worth the price. I’ll consider that if they bring price down to sharp’s level.
But again, research and read company history also cause u do want to base the reliability factor on the company credibility. At least I do to protect my investment. U’ll know why Sony is the best.
My Formula Buy sony without giving a second thought. wanna save some bucks, buy sharp period, no hear say no-sense.
